Snowshoe in West Virginia’s Allegheny Mountains is the #1 ski destination in the Mid-Atlantic. The winter business relied heavily on snow, snowmaking and terrain messaging, while the summer depended mostly on events and tactical offers. Our assignment: create a new long-term brand strategy that truly tapped into the culture of the mountain and cemented Snowshoe’s leadership position in the mid-Atlantic, no matter the time of year. Through research, we identified a new positioning that served as the guiding principle driving all initiatives, including operations, marketing, and employee communications. Mountain Rules, the resulting year-round brand campaign, engages its varying audiences between summer and winter, with a focus on storytelling and fresh social tactics.
